| Mission and Vision Who We Are The mission of the One Dream Foundation has remained the same since its founding in March 2007 by Betty Phiri Chibwe and Oliver Chibwe.: to “promote the value of giving to humanity”. This approach is intended to produce such breakthrough work and giving in healthy, poverty, education, social and access to technology in developing countries globally. Now, as at our founding, we work to identify and resolve some of the world’s most pressing problems in developing countries. Yet, while our mission has not changed, the world around us has, and we and our work must change with it, and are doing so. How We See the World Guided by the basic belief that “the value of giving” starts from within. Focusing on health, poverty, education, social and access to technology for all is and has been a core fundamental of humanity for humanity by humanity. What We Do The goal of the One Dream Foundation is to make sure that humanity—no matter where they live—get equal and fair chance to live a healthy, productive life. As a foundation, we choose a limited set of issues each year, develop expertise in them and bring together partners to tackle them with most enormous impact globally. This is the way we are working to give back and improve humanity, and it is the best investment we can make to any humanity. One Dream Foundation will “pick a theme” each year from our core programs, focusing on health, poverty, education, social and access to technology to implement. The One Dream Foundation has and will have one mission, work around the world to expand opportunities for disadvantaged or vulnerable humanity and help ensure that globalization’s benefits are equally and widely shared. It is not the investments that determine how any great organization is judged, but the outcome of those investments that counts, in short “the value of giving” from within should add real value to globe humanity. And that’s our passion and interest.Period. How We Work Our work begins not with some top-down plan for the improvement of societies or an official model of economic development, but with a search for new ideas with unusual potential for significant impact. We seek out these ideas in both traditional and non-traditional manners. Our initiatives are designed with specificity. Each has a clear timeframe, with identified activities and products, and a projected endpoint. We seek ideas that are rooted in facts, and work to analyze facts from diverse sources and in fresh ways within our personal values and beliefs. |
